Description - Objectives of the project:
The "CROSS THE GAP: Accessibility for Social and Cultural Inclusion" is an infrastructural proposal which aims generally to create new models of intervention to sustain social inclusion in Puglia and Greece for people with disabilities and citizens in general, combining physical accessibility and enjoyment of cultural activities.
In particular, the project aims at:
- Enlarge the access to cultural activities for different targets of people, including people with disabilities, through social awareness actions for community (theatre lab).
- Improve knowledge of cultural heritage enticing people to enter the archaeological sites, museums or cultural building through innovative tools with high technological content (multisensorial routes).
- Improve physical accessibility overcoming barriers in cultural buildings or archeological areas, thanks to standard EU solutions.
Description - Output of the project:
- Accessibility interventions design, planning and realization of architectural infrastructures. Restoration of access to the western entrance of the New Archaeological Museum of Ancient Olympia.
- Implementation of theatrical and musical activities involving disabled people.
- Equipment purchase for music laboratory and management of music laboratory.
- Website planning and management in 3 languages, Greek, English and Italian, newsletter and social media management.
- Analysis and editing contribution of 1 cross border guidelines.
- Mapping and contribution for map geolocalized of cultural assets.
- Editing of contents for virtual tools.
- Production of gadget, leadflet and booklet.
- Organization of final conference.
The total project budget is 2,128,463.90€, funded by European Regional Development Fund - ERDF and has a total duration of 24 months (31.05.2018 – 31.05.2020). The approved budget for the Region of Western Greece is 403,951.00€, which is 85% (343,358.35€) funded by the European Union (through lead partner) and 15% (60,592.65€) from the Program Public Investment.
